**Episode 10: Alistair's Legacy**
Determined to learn more about
Alistair Ainsworth, Ellie and Liam
decided to pay another visit to his
grand old house. This time, they
hoped to speak with Alistair's
descendant, Beatrice, the elderly
woman they had met during their
previous visit.
They arrived at the house
unannounced, hoping to catch
Beatrice in a more relaxed mood.
The housekeeper informed them
that Beatrice was in the garden,
tending to her roses.
They found Beatrice sitting on a
bench, surrounded by a riot of
colorful blooms. She looked frail
and tired, her face etched with the
lines of time.
"Beatrice," Ellie said, approaching
her gently. "We're so sorry to
intrude, but we were hoping to ask
you a few more questions about
Alistair Ainsworth."
Beatrice looked up, her eyes
clouded with suspicion. "I told you
everything I know," she said, her
voice weak. "There's nothing more
to say."
"But we believe that Alistair was
involved in a secret love affair,"
Liam said, his voice persuasive.
"And we think that you might
know something about it."
Beatrice's face paled. She looked
around nervously, as if afraid that
someone was listening. "I don't
know what you're talking about,"
she said, her voice trembling.
"Please, Beatrice," Ellie pleaded.
"We just want to understand what
happened. We want to give these
people a voice, to tell their story."
Beatrice hesitated, her eyes filled
with a mixture of fear and sadness.
Then, she took a deep breath and
said, "Alright," she said, her voice
barely a whisper. "I'll tell you what
I know. But you must promise me
that you won't judge. The past is a
complicated thing, and sometimes,
the truth is more painful than the
lies." Don't forget to leave a Comment
