**Episode 17: A Lost Painting**
Determined to find out what
happened to Eliza after she left
Havenwood, Ellie and Liam decided
to focus their attention on her art.
They believed that her paintings
might hold clues to her state of
mind and her where'abouts.
They learned that Eliza had been a
talented portrait artist,
commissioned by many prominent
families in Havenwood. But after
her disappearance, her work had
vanished from public view.
They began searching for Eliza's
paintings, contacting local art
collectors, visiting antique shops,
and scouring online auctions. They
hoped to find the portrait she had
painted of Alistair, believing that it
might contain a hidden message or
a secret clue.
Their search proved to be difficult.
Eliza's name had been erased from
Havenwood's history. Her paintings
were attributed to anonymous
artists or simply disappeared
altogether.
One rainy afternoon, while
rummaging through a dusty antique
shop, Ellie stumbled upon a small
landscape painting, tucked away in
a dark corner. The painting was
unsigned, but something about the
style and the brushstrokes caught
her eye.
She showed the painting to Liam,
who recognized it immediately.
"This is Eliza's work," he said, his
voice excited. "I'm sure of it. I've
seen similar landscapes in her
sketches."
They bought the painting for a
small sum, hoping that it would
lead them to other works by Eliza.
Back at Rose's Reads, they
examined the painting closely,
searching for any hidden details.
On the back of the canvas, they
found a faint inscription, written in
Eliza's handwriting. The inscription
was faded and difficult to read, but
Ellie and Liam were able to
decipher it with a magnifying glass.
The inscription read: *“Seek me
where' the sea meets the sky,
where' the secrets of the past lie
buried.”*
Ellie and Liam exchanged excited
glances. They believed that the
inscription was a clue to Eliza's
where'abouts. It suggested that she
had gone to a coastal location,
where' she had buried a secret
about her past.
They decided to investigate the
coastline near Havenwood,
searching for any sign of Eliza or
her lost painting of Alistair. Don't forget to leave a Comment
