**Episode 3: Shadows in the
Mansion**
As Amanda grew older, the veneer
of perfection began to crack. The
lavish gifts and expensive education
couldn't mask the emotional void in
her life. She excelled in school, but
felt increasingly isolated from her
classmates, who couldn't
comprehend her strange, gilded
existence.
Eleanor, meanwhile, became
increasingly preoccupied with her
social life and philanthropic
endeavors. Amanda was often left
alone in the vast mansion, a silent
observer of the comings and goings
of Eleanor’s friends – all of them
wealthy, elegant, and seemingly
devoid of genuine emotion.
One day, while exploring the attic,
Amanda stumbled upon a dusty
box filled with old photographs.
Among them, she found a picture
of Eleanor, young and radiant,
standing next to a man with kind
eyes and a warm smile. It was the
man Mrs. Gable had told her about,
Eleanor's late husband.
Amanda clutched the photograph, a
longing for a family she had never
known welling up inside her. She
began to wonder about her own
origins, about the woman who had
abandoned her in a trash can. Was
she still alive? Did she ever think
about her?
That evening, Amanda tentatively
approached Eleanor. "Mama," she
said, using the formal address
Eleanor insisted upon. "Can you tell
me about my real mother?"
Eleanor's face hardened. "There's
nothing to tell. You were
abandoned. I saved you. That
should be enough."
"But… why?" Amanda persisted,
tears welling up in her eyes.
Eleanor’s voice was sharp. "Don't be
ungrateful, Amanda. You have
everything you could possibly want.
Now, go to your room." Don't forget to leave a Comment
