**Episode 5: Breaking Point**
The burden of chores and the sting
of neglect finally took their toll.
Amanda's grades began to slip, and
she became withdrawn and sullen.
Mrs. Gable, noticing the change,
tried to intervene, but Eleanor
dismissed her concerns.
"Amanda needs to learn
responsibility," Eleanor declared.
"She's becoming spoiled and
entitled."
One evening, after a particularly
grueling day of cleaning and
cooking, Amanda accidentally broke
a valuable vase. Eleanor's fury was
unleashed.
"You clumsy, ungrateful child!" she
screamed. "Do you have any idea
how much that vase cost? You're
nothing but a burden, a constant
reminder of my… mistake!"
The words, laced with venom, hit
Amanda like a physical blow. She
stared at Eleanor, her eyes filled
with a mixture of shock and
defiance.
"I didn't ask to be rescued,"
Amanda said, her voice trembling
but firm. "I didn't ask for any of
this."
Eleanor's face contorted with rage.
"Then perhaps you should have
stayed in that trash can where' you
belong!"
Amanda turned and fled, tears
streaming down her face. She ran
out of the mansion, down the long
driveway, and into the darkness,
leaving behind the gilded cage that
had become her prison. Don't forget to leave a Comment
