**Episode 7: Reckless Choices
(September 26, 2024)**
Ethan's grief was manifesting in
reckless behavior. He was drinking
more, driving faster, and pushing
himself to the limit on the football
field. He sought the adrenaline rush,
the momentary escape from the
crushing weight of his sorrow. He
needed to feel *something*,
anything other than the hollow
ache in his chest.
One night, after a particularly
grueling practice, he found himself
at a party, surrounded by friends
and alcohol. He drank heavily,
numbing his senses, trying to
drown out the memories of Liam.
He ended up behind the wheel of
his car, his judgment clouded by
alcohol. A near-miss accident shook
him momentarily, but the fear
quickly faded, replaced by a
dangerous sense of invincibility.
He drove home, adrenaline
pumping, music blasting, and a
wave of recklessness washed over
him. He knew he was pushing his
luck, flirting with disaster. But he
couldn't stop himself. The pain was
too much to bear, the silence too
deafening. He pulled up at his
house and vomited on the curb,
then stumbled inside to his room.
The sun would rise, practice would
beckon and the lies would start
