Connection**
The next morning, Jim decided to
focus on John Davison, the arms
dealer whose name kept cropping
up in connection with Cole's shady
dealings. He needed to find a way
to get close to Davison and uncover
his secrets.
He remembered Councillor Smith's
offer to cover expenses and called
him. "I need to do some digging
into John Davison," Jim said. "But I
need some resources."
Smith agreed to provide the
funding, but he warned Jim to be
careful. "Davison is a dangerous
man," he said. "He has powerful
friends. Don't underestimate him."
Jim started by researching
Davison's company, a local arms
manufacturer called "Bristledown
Security Solutions." He discovered
that the company had a history of
controversial deals, including
supplying weapons to regimes with
questionable human rights records.
He also learned that Davison was a
recluse, rarely leaving his estate
and shrouded in mystery. Getting
