INFIDELITY – Episode 27

On any normal day, I would
have perhaps given my
undivided attention to this guy
but today I just want to be
normal. However despite my
decision, the guy didn’t wait for
me to give him the signal, he
took the liberty of approaching
me himself and just when I
thought that the guy would try
to seduce me or get me to get
laid, something rather
unexpected happened.

Simon ➡ Good afternoon..
.
Annabelle ➡ Afternoon, is there
anything I can help you with?
.
Simon ➡ You’re Annabelle aren’t
you.
.
Annabelle ➡ (shocked) How did
you know my name? I’m afraid
we haven’t met.
.
Simon ➡ Of course.. I’m a friend
of your husband, Odili. My name
is Simon.
.
Annabelle ➡ That’s funny. I
don’t remember seeing you on
our wedding day.
.
Simon ➡ Oh.. Our friendship
started months ago. The last
time we met, he showed me
your picture. You’re truly a
beautiful woman and a foxy
one too. Your husband’s a lucky
man.

Annabelle ➡ Thank you.
.
Simon ➡ Mind if I sit?
.
Annabelle ➡ Sure.
.
To be frank, I can’t believe this
was happening. I never knew
Odili had friends, in fact, I
thought he didn’t have any
friends at all cause ever since
we got married, he had never
came home with any guest or
any one who might be his
friend. Not even his relatives,
whom I only saw at the
wedding. I wonder what kind of
husband I’m married to?

Annabelle ➡ So if you’re Odili’s
friend, How come you never
came to his house for a visit?.
.
Simon ➡ That’s because your
husband didn’t want me to
know his house. In fact, the
reason why I came to see you is
because I haven’t seen him for
a while now. I hope everything
is alright.
.
Alright!? How could anything be
alright!? Here I was married to
some man I barely know
anything about. Thanks to
uncaring and unloving fiend, I’m
now forced to seek attention
from other men and the only
reason why I even stayed was
because of my parents but one
of these days I’m going to take
the bold step and do the right
thing.

Annabelle ➡ I wish I could give
you a good answer but things
haven’t been going well with
Odili and I.
.
Simon ➡ I’m sorry. What
happened?
.
Annabelle ➡ I don’t know. This is
all Odili’s fault. He doesn’t stay
at home, he doesn’t pay
attention to me. I’m married but
I feel like a widow. To be
honest, I hate this marriage of
mine.
.
Simon ➡ Don’t say that. Why
don’t you try talking things out
with him? I’m sure you guys can
work it out.
.
Annabelle ➡ I’ve tried and it
didn’t work. I know he’s your
friend but that b-stard is the
worthless man I’ve ever seen.
.
Simon ➡ Well, that’s
unfortunate. I’m sorry that
things aren’t going smooth with
Odili but just know that if you
need someone to talk to. I’m
around. Here’s my card.

Annabelle ➡ Alright. Thanks.
.
Simon ➡ You’re welcome. Okay
then, I’ll be taking my leave
now. I have to go home to my
wife.
.
Annabelle ➡ You’re married?
.
Simon ➡ Yes, I got hitched 8
months ago.
.
Annabelle ➡ Wow! So I suppose
that your wife is pregnant?
.
Simon ➡ She is. She’s even close.
.
Annabelle ➡ Wow,
congratulations.
.
Simon ➡ Thanks.. Alright then,
see you around.

Simon departed after that
statement and as he walked
away, I fixed my gaze on his
manly b-tt. It was so s£xy and
hot not to mention his calves
that looked like those European
footballers. God, what a man.
His wife is very lucky to have
him as her husband.
In that moment, I cursed the
day I met Odili. I’ve been
married to him for almost 3
years now and so far we
haven’t any children of our own
but here is Simon, his wife is
expecting to give birth soon.
God, why me?
After Simon’s departure, I laid
on the beach sands and stayed
for like hours thinking about
what Ihuoma had to me.
Perhaps maybe I should
unshackle myself from the
fruitless marriage and move on
my life before my time runs out.
But if I’m to do that, all this
enjoyment I’m getting will be
over, no more jet setter life. I’ll
have to think this through
before I make any sudden
decision.
At around 5:30 pm, the beach
was deserted and there was
only a few people hanging
around. Seeing that the sun
was about to submerge, I
decided to go back to my
humble abode. The drive back
home wasn’t as exciting as the
one I did when driving to the
beach and that’s because I was
busy thinking about other
people’s fortune wondering
what my life would have been
like if I hadn’t married Odili.
15 minutes later, I arrived home
and saw Odili’s car parked
outside the gate. I drove my car
inside the compound and
headed into the house to
confront the piece of shit. Upon
entering the leaving room, I saw
Odili stuffing some documents
in his briefcase and despite
sensing my presence, the
wastrel ignored me.

Annabelle ➡ Odili! We need to
talk.
.
Odili ➡ ?????
.
Annabelle ➡ ODILI!!!!
.
Odili ➡ WHAT THE F–K DO YOU
WANT WITH ME, WOMAN?… Can’t
you see I’m busy?
.
Annabelle ➡ I don’t give a damn!!
I said we need to talk. NOW!
.
Odili ➡ I don’t have time to do
that.
.
Annabelle ➡ What the hell is
that supposed to mean???
HUH??
.
Odili ➡ What’s all this
nonsense??
.
Annabelle ➡ I haven’t seen you
for like days and now you show
up doing God knows what.
What’s going on between us?
You marries me to be your wife
but you’re not putting any
effort in our marriage.
.
Odili ➡ Is that it?? Look, if you
nothing important, to say just
leave me alone. My flight leaves
in an hour.
.
No words could describe how
angry I was in that moment. I
couldn’t believe the words that
were coming out of this man’s
mouth. Why was this
happening? Where was the man
that I fell in love with? What
happened to him? Just what is
going on?.
.
Annabelle ➡ You’re seeing
another woman Aren’t you?
.
Odili ➡ I don’t know what you’re
talking about.
.
Annabelle ➡ Don’t lie to me you
shitpile. If I find our there’s
another woman, I’m going to..
.
Before I could finish my
statement, Odili gave me a dirty
slap across the face making me
to fall down. I wanted to
retaliate but as I looked into
Odili’s face, I hesitated. There
was rage and resentment in his
eyes, it was as if he had seen
his sworn enemy. Before I could
do anything, Odili reached down
and forcefully held my throat
looking into my eyes as he
made these statements.

Odili ➡ Don’t you ever talk to me
like that. I’m the man of the
house and what I do is none of
your business. Remember your
place b-tch. My finances is what
your family depends on and
without it, they’re nothing. I
don’t care what you want, my
desire is the one that matters
how I treat you is my business
not yours.. All you’re meant to
do is sit still and be the wife
you’re suppose to be and if I
find out that you’re cheating,
I’m going to ruin you.
Understand?
.
All I could do was nod. I was too
angry and scared to say
anything. I never knew Odili had
this side of him and if he think
that he can manipulate me into
his puppet, then he must be
crazy.
After that harsh statement,
Odili let go of my neck and left
the house with the briefcase ?
in hand. I hissed and shouted
angrily after his departure, I
wanted to cry right in that
moment but the tears won’t
fall.
That night as I laid in my bed, I
kept thinking and reminiscing
what that b-stard told me. What
kind of man slaps a woman just
because she tells him to adjust?
and also there’s that talk he
said about his wealth taking
care of me and my family. He
had the balls to rub this in my
face and I swear I’m not going
quiet about this. I’m going to
get even and I know just what
to do to make him feel the burn.
As I laid in my bed quietly with
my eyes open, I heard loud and
the cry of thief. At first, I had
no interest in knowing what
was going on but then I began
to hear noises outside the
streets . Immediately, I headed
to the verandah to see what
was going on and to my
surprise, there was Jim in the
house right next to mine
desperately trying to look for a
way to escape but he couldn’t
do so due to the fact that the
house police dog was chasing
him around. The lady of the
house who was also on
verandah was shouting thief,
thief drawing the attention of
some young guys hanging
around the place.
In that moment, I quickly
recalled seeing Jim this morning
staring at my house but I didn’t
understand what he was up to
even now I didn’t understand
why he had landed in the house
right next to mine, it was only
hours later in the morning that I
heard from the lady she had
stayed up late cause she
couldn’t sleep and as she was
standing on her verandah, she
spotted Jim trying to sneak into
my house but he slipped and
fell into hers my mistake.
He must have been the one
that snuck into my house last
night and forced himself upon
me. This is to be it although I
would have allowed him to have
his way with me that night
considering how eager I was to
get back at Odili for what he did
to be but since he had messed
up the previous night, there’s
no way I could let him.
Odili had made a big for what he
did and he’s going to regret
ever having me as his wife, but
before I throw the heat at him,
there’s something I have to do
first.
