Episode 18: The Price of Trust
(Moana POV)
His outstretched hand hovered in the air, a silent plea
for forgiveness. I wanted to take it, to feel the familiar
warmth of his touch, but I couldn't bring myself to
move. The wound was still too raw, the betrayal too
fresh.
"I need time, Shary," I said softly, my voice barely
above a whisper. "I need time to heal, to process
everything that's happened. I can't just pretend that
nothing happened and go back to the way things
were."
I lowered my gaze, unable to meet his eyes. "I want to
believe you, I really do. But I need to see real change,
not just empty promises. I need to know that you're
willing to fight for us, to prove that our love is worth
saving."
(Shary POV)
Time. It was a commodity I feared, knowing that every
moment apart could drive us further away. But I
understood her need. I couldn't force her to forgive me,
I had to earn it.
"I understand," I said, withdrawing my hand. "I'll give
you all the time you need. But I won't give up on you,
Moana. I'll be here, waiting, ready to prove that I'm
worthy of your love."
I turned to leave, the weight of my mistakes pressing
down on me. As I reached the door, I paused, turning
back to face her. "Just promise me one thing, Moana.
Promise me you won't push me away completely."
(Moana POV)
His words resonated within me, a flicker of hope in the
darkness. Could we truly salvage what we had lost?
Was it worth the effort, the pain, the risk of further
heartbreak?
"I... I promise," I said, my voice filled with uncertainty. "I
won't push you away completely. But you need to
understand, Shary, this is going to be a long and difficult
process. There are no guarantees."
I watched him leave, a wave of exhaustion washing
over me. The road ahead was uncertain, but I knew
one thing for sure: it was going to be a long and
arduous journey to rebuild the shattered pieces of my
heart.
