Episode 23: A Deal with the Devil
(PaRiskY POV)
I detailed my knowledge of Chatlanka's defenses, my
connections to the outcast network, my willingness to
do whatever it took to achieve our goals.
"I offer you my unwavering loyalty, Layla," I said,
bowing my head in mock subservience. "Together, we
can make Chatlanka tremble."
(Layla POV)
His words were hollow, his loyalty conditional. But I
needed him, at least for now. He was a useful tool, a
means to an end.
"I accept your offer, PaRiskY," I said, my voice cold. "But
understand this: I will tolerate no betrayal. If you cross
me, you will regret it."
I extended my hand, and PaRiskY grasped it, sealing our
unholy alliance. Chatlanka was about to face a storm
unlike anything it had ever seen. The storm was the
end for Chatlanka. I just needed to go the extra mile to
start. I also needed to make sure no one was in my
way.
